Skeleton based cases

It mentions in the first paragraph using this in skeleton based animation.  How do you approach using this in such a case if you want the outline on the outer edge of the combined sprites?

    In this case, you would render your animated character inside of a viewport and apply the outline shader to the texture this viewport produces. You'll see various examples of using viewports to render textures in this course.
